JSG #01 [A Look @ God & Life]
<< Close Small Group Details
When Joe started following God in 1990 he was clueless in so many ways (but it is not nice to make fun of somebody because they had a mullet!). If you ask him what the key was to getting started and staying focused on his spiritual journey he would tell you quickly that it was a combination of digging into the Bible and getting help understanding what he was reading by some godly men and women. Join Joe at the Journey Church Office for some honest and relevant conversations about God and how we can live out the life He is calling us to live... and don't forget to bring your questions and your brain!

JSG #04 [The "How To Book" On Christian Living]
<< Close Small Group Details
Has your life been challenged by tragedy, loss, disease, divorce, job loss, addiction, or worse? James is the "how to book" on Christian living. During our small group, we will read and study the book of James using a discussion framework. James' letter is about a servant-Lord relationship in which all Christians are to persevere. It reveals how along the way, true servants of the Lord will have to put their servanthood into practice in the midst of suffering, in choosing their relationship with material wealth, and in controlling how they speak and in other life issues. The discussion will focus on the practical life-use of James' teaching and is for Christians of all levels of maturity.

SORRY THIS GROUP IS FULL FOR THIS SEMESTER
In a recent study, the Barna Research Group revealed a stunning statistic that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9 percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview. Because of this, today's Christians live very similarly to others in the culture. A personal sense of significance is rarely experienced. We spend our money and time on things that fail to satisfy, and we begin to wonder what lifeĆs ultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our bearings as a people and a nation. Join us as we take a close look at life from a biblical perspective...

JSG #07 [The Life You've Always Wanted]
<< Close Small Group Details
The heart of Christianity is transformation - a relationship with God that impacts not just our "spiritual lives" but every aspect of living. John Ortberg calls readers back to the dynamic heartbeat of Christianity -God's power to bring change and growth - and reveals both the how and why of transformation. As with a marathon runner, the secret to winning the race lies not in trying harder, but in training consistently -training with the spiritual disciplines. The disciplines are neither taskmasters nor an end in themselves. Rather they are exercises that build strength and endurance for the road of growth. The fruit of the Spirit - joy, peace, kindness, etc. - are the signposts along the way.

Instead, we want to expose you to a sampling of the wisdom of Proverbs, hoping that you will make this book a lifelong study. In this series of lessons, we intend to provide you with a model for study by doing 10 various themes that we find throughout Proverbs. When this series is finished, we will have only scratched the surface of the riches to be found in this book. From then on, the challenge will be yours.
